Ministry with Children and Youth

Sunday morning nursery care is provided for infants through two-year-olds in our Young Children's Center and Nursery, conveniently located adjacent to Fellowship hall, at the foot of the Harvard Avenue stairs leading down from the sanctuary. Child care begins at 9:20 a.m. and continues 15-minutes after the close of worship. Parents can attend the Learning Community classes of their choice and the 11:00 a.m. worship service. Because we want our children to have the most consistent and the best possible care, we employ professionally trained child care providers. Beepers are available so parents can relax and enjoy worship but also know that they will be contacted if their child has a need.
Children, elementary grades 1 through 6 begin at 9:30 a.m. with music education provided by Dr. Belle Chenault. The youth occasionally sing in the church's worship service and annually offer a musical or play to the congregation. At 11:00 a.m., the children attend worship, participate in a "children's conversation," and then attend their Learning Community classes taught by loving and capable volunteers from the congregation.
Youth, grades 7 through 12, attend their Learning Community class at 9:30 a.m. We also have a Youth Group which is engaged in many creative activities including discipleship training, mission projects, recreational and fun outings and retreats. They have an active and busy schedule throughout the year.
Family and Youth events are planned for parents and kids, which include education, adventure, and just fun stuff to get to know one another.
