The Networking Church Blog
Ned Allyn Parker's blog explores the variety and multiplicity of ways churches can network with their congregations, with other churches, with organizations in their communities and with other faith traditions. This is less a 21st century 'how-to manual,' and more an opportunity to explore, examine and experiment within the broad spectrum of tools churches can use to network from Sunday bulletin to facebook page. Ned Allyn Parker is the Pastor for Children, Families, and Young Adults at Seattle First Baptist. Read Ned's bio... |
Reflect with Spirit Stones
Action emerges from contemplation. Without one, the other is untethered, unbalanced. Pastor of Spiritual Formation Catherine Fransson writes a weekly reflection titled Spirit Stones ...rings of Mystery, probing the doubts, questions and paradoxes of the spiritual journey. Evergreen Association of American Baptist Churches
The Evergreen Association of American Baptist Churches (Evergreen) is an association of Churches dedicated to celebrating our diversity while finding our unity in Jesus Christ. We at Evergreen envision a community of churches working together as one in unity and in spirit. We feel that the best way to honor our vision is to structure an organization where decisions are made through ethnic caucuses and decision making by consensus. This structure is unique among the regions of American Baptist Churches USA. |
American Baptist Churches USA
American Baptists are a Christ-centered, biblically grounded, ethnically diverse people called to radical personal discipleship in Christ Jesus. Our commitment to Jesus propels us to nurture authentic relationships with one another; build healthy churches; transform our communities, our nations and our world; engage every member in hands-on ministry; and speak the prophetic word in love. As a people of prayer, purpose, and passion, we are in the forefront of creating a community of faith where people of every race, nationality and culture gather as one in worship, service and work. The heart of the gospel is God's redemptive love. In our life together, the world will see the power of forgiveness to overcome alienation, the strength of love to transform hate, the power of grace to break the bonds of guilt, the triumph of hope over despair, and the victory of faith over doubt. Through the cross of Christ we embrace the world as neighbor. Our vision for mission energizes a multitude of servant ministries of evangelism, discipleship, leadership, new church development, social justice, healing, peacemaking, economic development and education. Empowered by the Holy Spirit, we work together in mutual submission, humility, love, and giving that the gospel might be preached and lived in all the world. |
Companis — Professionals Serving the Nonprofit Community
Companis is a Seattle-based nonprofit organization, founded in 1994 to address gaps in quality professional staffing experienced by nonprofit agencies due to budget limitations and the growing requests for service provision among our neighbors in crisis. Companis matches professional volunteer and community workers with nonprofit agencies in need of staffing assistance. In addition to a core group of full-time volunteer professionals who commit to working for client agencies for at least one year (and who may receive a stipend); Companis also serves as a matchmaker to connect talented part-time volunteers from the community with nonprofits who need their specialized skills. "Companis does what would otherwise go undone!" |
Church Council of Greater Seattle
Grounded in faith, working for justice. More than 85 years ago, representatives from 62 congregations gathered in downtown Seattle to form an organization that eventually became known as the Church Council of Greater Seattle. Over the years the Council has embraced all major Christian denominations and many interfaith partners. It has also developed a distinctly activist character in keeping with the Pacific Northwest's pioneering spirit and the Christian call for compassion. Today, the Church Council represents more than 400 churches and 15 denominations as well as thousands of individuals united by the belief that we can work together to promote justice and increase compassion in our community. |
