Darren Hochstedler - Church Administrator
Darren Hochstedler joined the staff of Seattle First Baptist as our Church Administrator in January 2016.
Darren has extensive experience in church administration, most recently serving as administrator at Phinney Ridge Lutheran Church for nearly 10 years. He also brings his knowledge from a previous career in theater management and lighting and set design. In addition to working in church administration, Darren also is currently the choir director at Edmonds Lutheran Church, and will continue in that job going forward. Jim Segaar, Director of Communications

Jim Segaar began working as part of the staff at SFBC in 2014, but has been involved in the church for more than 20 years. He is an active member of the choir and has served as president of the congregation and chair of the Stewardship Commission. He also enjoys leading Adult Education series from time to time, and has contributed meditations to various church projects.
Jim retired from a career in Information Technology, working in the field for 25+ years in roles including developer, technical lead, architect and manager. Most recently he has worked on strategy in retail, exploring how technology and information can be used to better serve customers. Jim was educated as a journalist and worked in that field for several years. He's also worked as a minister of a small church, a construction crew foreman, and in various farm-related jobs. Educationally, he holds a Bachelor of Arts in Journalism and a Masters in Business Administration.
Jim enjoys bicycling, hiking and traveling with his husband Jim Ginn, and the couple's Miniature Schnauzer has him wrapped around his little paw.

Sue Ross, Faith Community Nurse
Sue Ross joined Seattle First Baptist Church in 1981, and with her husband Brian has been active in church life ever since.
Sue graduated from the UW School of Nursing in 1982, started working at the University Hospital and in 1988 she went to work for one of the Urologists as his clinic and research nurse studying the transmission of HIV and treatment of chronic Prostatitis. In 1990 Sue obtained her Master’s degree in nursing from the University of Washington. As the Faith Community Nurse for SFBC Sue will maintain a health information bulletin board, write articles for the Spire on health issues and is available for blood pressure screenings, assessments of physical, mental and spiritual needs, and help with accessing community health resources.
