Camp Burton on Vashon Island

Join with our church family for a weekend of fun, fellowship, rest and renewal! We have reserved the entire camp just for SFBC. We will have opportunities for prayer and meditation, walks in the woods and along the beach, intergenerational games, story-sharing around a campfire, and more! Vashon Island is the perfect place to find rest in Creation as well as engage with our community. All ages are welcome!

On Sunday, November 16, SFBC will have our church service at Camp Burton. There will be no events taking place in the church building on that day.

Cost: All lodging, meals, parking and activities at Camp Burton are FREE! This retreat is paid for through the Lilly Clergy Renewal Grant for Pastor Anita’s sabbatical.

Getting there: Camp Burton is on Vashon Island, accessible via ferry from Fauntleroy Ferry Terminal in West Seattle. Rides will be organized for those who need them—please note on your registration if you need a ride or can offer a ride. The fare for ferry travel to Vashon Island is at your own expense (contact the pastors if this is a hardship).

Lodging: Rooms are available in the Retreat Center and cabins. All rooms have twin beds and full bathrooms. For this retreat, single rooms are not available (if you have an extenuating circumstance, please contact the Pastors for accommodation). If you wish to lodge elsewhere on Vashon Island, you are responsible for all arrangements and costs.

Meals provided: All meals Friday dinner through Sunday breakfast provided. Gluten-free, vegetarian, dairy-free options provided with advance registration.

Accessibility: ADA accessible rooms are available. All spaces for meals and fellowship are accessible. Due to its location, Camp Burton does have uneven walking surfaces, but there are also ample parking spaces for people who need to drive between buildings. Rides between buildings can be coordinated.
