Play Reading Circle “Freud’s Last Session”

March 7 and April 4, 3:00pm on Zoom

On March 7th and April 4th, the SFBC Play Reading Circle will be reading Freud’s Last Session by Mark St. Germain. This drama imagines a conversation between C.S. Lewis of “The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe” fame and Sigmund Freud, father of psychoanalysis, in 1939 London on the day England entered World War II. At the time Freud was 83, suffering with cancer, and a couple of weeks from his physician-assisted death. Lewis was 40. They discuss the existence of God (Lewis being a devout Christian convert and Freud being famous for his scathing criticism of those who believe in God). But they don’t stop there. Life, death, sex – anything’s on the table.

Join us on Zoom from 3:00-5:00pm on the above dates to join this vibrant group. Play Reading Circle meets on the first Saturday of the month. No theatrical experience necessary! Pick up a script at the Welcome Table in the Fellowship Hall or call the church office at (206) 325-6051 to make other arrangements.
