Summer Circles Kickoff
This summer we are kicking off Summer Circles! This is the culmination of our work from the AWAB Thriving Congregations cohort (You can read about it in the spring Spire. Our work has culminated in developing what the program calls a “faithful experiment.”) Good relationships are essential in any community, and especially churches. We also know that our world is really hard right now, and folks are exhausted with the weight of it. So, we want to offer an opportunity for connection, fun, and renewal right in your own neighborhoods!
These groups will be focused on play. Folks will gather together to play games together (either outdoors or indoors), maybe share a meal, and really get to know one another. We want folks to get to know other SFBCers in their neighborhood and to build good relationships with each other. We also want everyone to have fun together!
We have created three regional groups: North, Central, and South. While these are larger groups, it allows for a shared leadership model.
We will be kicking these groups off at coffee hour on Sunday, June 22nd following worship. We will provide heavier snacking options than the normal coffee hour. There will be signs indicating which neighborhoods fall into which group so you will know where to go. You will be able to meet people who will be in your small group and begin to build connection! Your group will decide when to meet in July and August. These meetings will be at a location within your group’s geographic area.
If you can’t make it on June 22nd, don’t worry! Group leaders will be in touch with folks in their areas to schedule the July meet-up. We hope these groups will be a source of connection, relationship, and fun this summer!
