Exploring Contemplation

Come explore contemplation with us this fall! The Exploring Contemplation small group will resume meeting on the first and third Fridays of each month, beginning September 4th, 11:00am on Zoom.

This fall we plan to explore the book Liturgies for Resisting Empire by Kat Armas. The subtitle reads: “Seeking community, belonging, and peace in a dehumanizing world.” This is not a book study per se, and reading the book is not required. We will use a theme from the book each time we meet to enrich our practice of music, study, and meditation together.

In the preface, Armas writes: “Whether you read alone or with a community, let these prayers and reflections guide you not toward easy answers but toward the sacred work of wrestling, confessing, and dreaming of something freer. There is no right way to do this work, only the honest way. Let us begin.”
