Contemplative Book Study
Over the next few months, the Exploring Contemplation small group will be working from the book “Refuge,” by Terry Tempest Williams. This book will serve as a prompt for our individual meditation practices, and our time together will be focused on sharing our meditation experiences with each other. What is working well, and where are we finding peace — and what are the challenges we face as we strive to maintain a meditation practice? A guided meditation will also be included as part of our time together.
The small group meets on Zoom every other Friday (May 1, 15, 29, and so on through the summer). You do not need to have attended last time to benefit from the group, so you are welcome to join in at any point. Facilitation duties will be shared among all of our members. The sessions run from 11:00am-Noon and can be accessed at the link below.
The book retails for $18 and can be purchased at any bookstore. If cost is a barrier, email smallgroups@seattlefirstbaptist.org, and the church will provide you with a copy. Everyone is welcome to attend. This is a great opportunity for us to learn and grow with each other. Let’s take advantage of what we all have to offer.
