Highlighting the Church Council of Greater Seattle

For the month of October, we will be highlighting the work of our ministry partner, the Church Council of Greater Seattle. SFBC was one of the founding churches of CCGS over 100 years ago, and they remain an important partner for us today. We are proud to join CCGS in their work of building collective power through faith-rooted community organizing for transformational change toward liberation and justice. The Church Council of Greater Seattle will join us in worship one Sunday in October to share more about their work. All gifts to the Fellowship Fund for the month of October will go to the Church Council of Greater Seattle. You may give to the Fellowship Fund through the church website or through utilizing the blue envelopes in the sanctuary and dropping in the offering box. Thank you for giving meaningfully to our important partner in ministry!

You can also join the Church Council of Greater Seattle to kick-off this year’s city of Seattle budget cycle. Pastor Leigh is working with CCGS to help lead faith communities to organize and advocate around the city’s budget. We believe budgets are a moral document, and the budget of our city should reflect the progressive values we claim. This event will have music, information on the city’s budget cycle and on the Solidarity Budget, training on giving public comment, and opportunity to write public comment. This is an important way to show up for our neighbors in our city to advocate for a budget that prioritizes community care.
