Nursery Update
You may have passed by the nursery and noticed some significant changes! A beautiful mural has been painted by Michaele Miller, and furniture has been cleaned and new furniture has been added by some dedicated volunteers.
We will have a nursery dedication on Sunday, May 3 at 10:30am in the Parlor.
If you would like to support stocking the nursery, please visit this link: https://www.amazon.com/hz/wishlist/ls/1A8XMY2EZOJL9?ref_=wl_share
At this time, the nursery will not be professionally staffed. For the time being, it will be available to families with babies and toddlers who need a clean, quiet place to spend time, feed or do diapering. Activity in the sanctuary and Fellowship Hall can be piped into the nursery.
If you are interested in volunteering to help in the nursery during worship services or special events, please contact Pastor Anita.
Godly Play
It has been about two years since we’ve had a consistent Godly Play Sunday school program for the youngest worshippers among us, so it’s high time that we revitalize this ministry! Pastor Anita and Megan Walker are working together to breathe new life into this important faith formation offering for children in kindergarten through 5th grade. If you are interested in learning about Godly Play, whether to be a storyteller or simply an extra caring adult, please contact Pastor Anita! We plan to test our ideas in May and June, so you’ll be hearing more soon!
Administrator Search Committee
Our beloved Administrator Darren Hochstedler is retiring in September of this year after more than 10 years of dedicated work. The Personnel Committee has put together a search committee to work on finding a suitable replacement. The Search Committee consists of: the pastors, Bob Sittig (former Administrator), Roger Garratt (Treasurer and Finance Committee chair), Brian Ross (Personnel Committee), and Cherry Johnson (Council of Ministries). The job description has been posted to our website and shared with partner organizations and the Seattle church community. Please direct any questions about the search to Pastor Anita. And stay tuned—we will be celebrating Darren’s great work with us later this year. Congregational Care Team
Caring for one another is an important part of being church family together. During the pandemic “at-home” times, Darla O’Brian and Carole Cornell made regular calls to our church members to check in, keep up with prayer requests, and provide support as needed. In 2025 we began breathing new life into this practice of congregational care by gathering a team who will be calling, sending cards and offering to visit members of our congregation. In 2026, we are growing this team!
If you are interested in joining this congregational care team, please contact Pastor Anita and she will connect you with a task. This is a great way to get to know our congregation, to offer a listening ear and a comforting hand, and to build our congregation stronger and closer together.
