Pastor’s Updates for November

Give Back to the Future

The theme of this year’s SFBC stewardship season is “Give Back to the Future.” SFBC has a rich, wonderful history. In our 157 years of ministry, we have strived to follow God’s call choosing justice, love, and inclusion. As we look to what is before us as a church and where God is calling us, we want to know what are your hopes and dreams for the future of SFBC? Where do you sense the Spirit nudging us? What does following the way of Jesus look like in the years ahead? SFBC has a rich history, but we also have an exciting future. This future is made possible with your financial support and engagement. This stewardship season, we invite you to imagine the future you want to give to. Let us hope and dream and boldly step into the future God is calling us to together. On Sunday, November 8th we will Give Back to the Future together by offering our pledges of financial support and engagement for 2027.

Fellowship Fund Offering

During November, SFBC is highlighting The People’s Breakfast. The People’s Breakfast is part of Seattle Mutual Aid Coalition. SMAC feeds over 150 people each week between their UDistrict, Capitol Hill, and Downtown locations. The People’s Breakfast use our kitchen space every Saturday and Sunday to make lunch and breakfast for over 100 people here in Capitol Hill and in the UDistrict. They are an action-oriented and relational organization. If you would like to help them prepare meals on Saturdays or Sundays, reach out to Pastor Leigh and she will put you in touch with their leadership. You can find out more at https://www.seattlemutualaidcoalition.com

Please consider making a gift to the Fellowship Fund this month to support SFBC’s outreach and benevolence ministries, specifically to support The People’s Breakfast.
