“How to Be” Sunday Morning Series

We’ve spent the last several weeks studying Acts 2:42-47. We’ve discussed how the early church was church together and what we can learn from them. Now, we’re going to get really practical. Join the Pastors as we explore “How to Be” church together. We will have different folks speak to their experience each week in these areas: leading worship, organizing and advocacy, hospitality, and stewardship. We hope you will join us from 9:30-10:30am in the Parlor!

October 18: How to Lead Worship
October 25: How to Be an Ally, Organize, and Advocate
November 1: How to Provide Hospitality
November 8: How to Give/Tithe

Poetry Marathon for Peace

The Poetry Marathon for Peace is coming up on Saturday, October 24 from 10:00am-4:00pm. We will meet in the SFBC Fellowship Hall for a time of listening to poetry together. There are still slots open for you to “host” a slot, which can mean sharing poetry you’ve written or sharing poetry that you love by someone else! And we need audience members—so come on over to spend part of your Saturday with people from our church family and beyond!

And please note there will be poetry especially for children at noon!

Wednesday Nights @ SFBC

Wednesday nights at SFBC are back! We gather in the Parlor at 6:00pm for a bring-your-own dinner. At 6:30pm, we move to the chapel for a contemplative Vespers service in which we sing, pray, reflect, and read Scripture together. We hope you will join us!

Children’s Church

Each Sunday after worship, children who are infants through 5th grade and younger are invited to gather in the Hintz Chapel adjacent to the Sanctuary for a special half-hour faith formation time (approximately noon-12:30pm). We will share a Bible story (sometimes offered in the Godly Play style), read a picture book, sing favorite children’s choir songs, and pray together. Pastors and volunteers work together to steward this important time of fellowship and care with our youngest worshippers.
