Building Beloved Community
Join Pastors Leigh and Anita on Sundays 9/13, 9/20, 9/27, and 10/4 at 9:30am in the Parlor for a Bible study on Acts 2:42-47. We will explore how the early church was the church together. We will discuss what we can learn from the early church and how we can be the church together, building a beloved community. We hope you will join us!
Wednesday Nights @ SFBC
We’ve heard many of you say you miss the opportunity to gather together midweek and that you miss Wednesday night dinners. Beginning, Wednesday, September 16th, Wednesday nights at SFBC are back! We will gather in the Parlor at 6:00pm for a bring-your-own dinner. Bring your dinner with you and we will have a lovely time of fellowship together! At 6:30pm, we will move to the chapel for a Vespers service. These services will be more contemplative in nature. We will sing, pray, reflect, and read Scripture together. We hope you will join us!
Children’s Church begins September 20
Each Sunday after worship, children who are infants through 5th grade and younger are invited to gather in the Hintz Chapel adjacent to the Sanctuary for a special half-hour faith formation time (approximately noon-12:30pm). We will share a Bible story (sometimes offered in the Godly Play style), read a picture book, sing favorite children’s choir songs, and pray together. Pastors and volunteers work together to steward this important time of fellowship and care with our youngest worshippers.
Save the date for our 2026 All-Church Retreat!
November 13-15 (Friday night through Sunday morning) at Camp Burton on Vashon Island!
Over 60 members of our church family enjoyed our All-Church Retreat last November, paid for by a grant from Pastor Anita’s sabbatical. We had such a good time that the Romney Legacy Committee has pledged funds to provide another retreat this year! The weekend will be free, include activities for all ages, and culminate with a worship service on Sunday morning.
