Rumbarroco: A Latin Baroque Fiesta

In celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, Rumbarroco Ensemble presents an immersive musical voyage that traverses the vibrant landscape of Ibero-American music. Through the fiery strings of the Fandango and the graceful patterns of the Marionas, they pay tribute to the Morenas—the dark-skinned women whose stories of love and endurance are woven into melodies and dances. From the sacred to the secular, this “Journey of Love” explores themes of identity, exile, and the enduring power of music to bridge the divide between then and now, here and home.
La Fonte Musica: Rise of European Music

“The Rise of European music” is the title of a pivotal book by Reinhard Strohm, describing the years from the end of Ars Nova to the first half of the 15th century as the first time when music has a European, international dimension. It is a fascinating story which connects musical traditions. Tinctoris at the end of the 15th century has the picture very clear: the English were the fathers of the new art. Tracing briefly Italian and French music which pre-existed this first generation we will then move to Johannes Ciconia, then to the English John Dunstable and John Plummer, before finishing with Dufay, father of a new art which will be imitated until the end of the 15th century.
Chanticleer: Love Supreme

Chanticleer explores humanity’s eternal longing for the transcendent: the love that surpasses understanding, unites the sacred and profane, and holds the universe together. Spanning centuries, cultures, and styles, this program invites audiences into a luminous meditation on love in all its forms. Through Chanticleer’s signature blend of voices, the program reveals love as a force longed for, celebrated, and fleetingly glimpsed through song.
